Room 2's Natureland trip

Damian the biggest monkey in the Jungle

John with the dead rat
On the 1st of June 2011 Room 2 went on a trip to Natureland Zoo. Our tour guide was Christine and she started off by telling us alot of information about the tuatara because that was our topic. Then she said we can't see the tuatara because it is hibernating. Just after that we found a dead rat near the playground and John the zoo keeper kicked the rat near Emma's Mum and suddenly everyone started laughing. Then Christine brought out Ricky a Tuatara in glass form and she gave everyone a chance to pat 'glass form' Ricky and when I touched him he felt very scaly and  rough. Then it was time for morning tea and a chance to visit some of the animal enclosures. After Morning Tea we sat back down and listened to some more information like a Tuatara can drop off its tail and then she brought out some confiscated animals like a Crocodiles head, a turtles shell, some tuatara skin, a Scorpion in a frame and a sawfish's tooth (a prehistoric swimming reptile). Next we had a car group challenge with even a fear test when you had to put your hand in a bucket and guess what it was. It ended up to be a plastic giant weta. Next we had lunch and a chance to see the Capuchin monkeys being fed. They were so funny. Now it was time to go to the beach. Fnd out what happened in the next part of our beach adventure in part 2.
